Life is like... life. We go around, and we see the different people in our lives. Then we go down the street, and we see someone else doing the same thing. We move to a different city, and people are doing the same thing. We realize how much alike we all are. We're all connected by one thing. What is that, though? Can you put a name to that immeasurable feeling that we all have, that feeling of oneness?
People have tried before. The Ancient Greeks and Romans even felt it, and called it humanism. Maybe that's the word.. but it's different than that. It's the feeling that, deep inside, we're all connected. We're all a big family. That man on the street corner, he's your father, your grandfather, your brother. And that woman, in the shiny new car? She's your aunt, your sister, your cousin. We're all connected in one way or another.
Have you ever heard of the theory of Six Degrees Of Seperation? Maybe it's something like that. I don't know. Isn't it weird, to you, that everyone thinks the same? I mean, sure, some people are more unique than others, but honestly, don't we all try to just get through with our lives? With high school, college, or middle age-ness. We're in a rush, for some reason. All of us. No one thinks, acts, lives slowly.
Now, think of this. What if we all acted like one big family? What if I met with you and your grandparents every Thursday to go out for dinner? What if they were my grandparents, too?
Maybe not that.. close? Sincere? We don't have to go out to eat with random people off the streets. But what if you thought of them more as your family? What if you actually put forth an effort to slow down, and take more consideration for these people in our lives? We rush through, knocking people over and out of our way, not even caring that we've hurt them in the process. What if we actually cared? The world would be a much, much better place if we actually thought about others as family.
Would you send millions and millions of soldiers into a country, to shoot up a terrorist? How about this, would you send all of your family you had into a country, to shoot up your brother, to hunt him down? The world could be so much different if everyone just thought a little bit differently.
If only six people started thinking this way, to the extent that people actually realized it and decided to take on the mindset too, and if everyone that saw these people did the same, and so on and so forth, everyone in the world would be at peace. No stress, no arguing, no terrorism, no wars, no worries.
6.5 billion people can be changed by only six.
Think about it.
